Bimbadgen Palmers Lane Wedding | Hunter Valley Wedding Photographer

Bride and Groom walking near the Dam at Bimbadgen winery

Grace and Chris are people of taste, so it made sense they chose Bimbadgen for their wedding! Bimbadgen offers everything - first class dining, onsite accomodation, multiple ceremony options and indoor facilities which cater for all weather conditions. As these two stood before each other, friends, family and God - I couldn't help "get the feels" as they made their vows. I've loved getting to know them more through the process of helping them with their wedding planning and capturing their day was such a privilege.

Preparation

Grace decided to stay onsite the night before at The Lan Retreat - Bimbadgens private studio style accomodation. This was great as it provided a really nice setting for the getting ready photos and removed any stress around getting to the ceremony. I like to use the decore and lighting of whatever setting i'm shooting in and the cozy studio apartment had some nice big windows and simple styling which complimented the wedding pallet perfectly!

Ceremony

Grace and Chris decided to hold their ceremony on the outdoor lawn under the big trees (I can't remember what species they are!) Bimbadgen provided an arbour, and the lawn is flanked by some bushes creating an intimate setting but with this incredible background of the vineyard and hills in the distance. Even though it was bright, It was helpful facing the sun as the backlighting keeps faces lit evenly and brings out a few sneeky lens flares which I think adds a bit of character to the photos sometimes. They exited through a flurry of rose petals - would recommend!

Bridal Party

Since Bimbadgen is so flipping gorgeous, we didn't need to go anywhere else for the bridal party photos. The lawns were kept really nicely so we used a nearby open field, for a shot shots, and then made our way up to the edge of the Dam for some shots of Grace and Chris. Since it was winter the vines weren't looking that great - but that's always a great option in Spring/Summer. As the changed with the setting sun we got some really nice backlit shots as well as a Silhouette or two Bimbadgen provided a little golf cart to get us back to the recpetion on time - very handy for making the most of the sunset!

Reception

Grace and Chris had their reception inside the main building at Bimbadgen. It was the perfect size for the 80ish guests and still provided room for dancing. They opted for a cupcake tower instead of a traditional cake and Chris's serenade with an original song had everyone moved to tears. As the niht progressed, people made their way out onto the lawn which was very romantically lit with festoon lights. I also stole the new Mr & Mrs away for a little creative flash shot in front of the big barn door entrance.
